MEET THE TEAM
CHRIstine Palmer
You must do what you love- somewhere in life, it needs to fit in.
My knowledge about construction and design run deep. I've been redesigning + renovating houses for over 25 years. Everything from hand-drawn architectural drawings to setting tile is in my wheelhouse. Although design is where my passion lays, I don’t mind getting in there and doing the work to get something done.
In college, I studied art, (everything from steel sculpture to photography) with a focus in painting. Mikel and I found each other in 1997, both eager to create better spaces, we became an unintentional design/build team, that has organically turned into a business.
Born + raised in Michigan, Mikel and I made the move to Seattle in 2005 with our two young boys in tow.
I was fortunate to land a job with an architect whose design studio focused on pre-fab backyard structures and sculptural lighting. Working in this creative environment gave me business insight and fed my passion for details + space.
Since 2011, I've also been a Real Estate Broker, which continues to satisfy my love of architecture, but most importantly has gifted me a wonderful community of people (clients, colleagues + contractors).
I find the spaces we surround ourselves in, incredibly important- they can contribute to our everyday well-being through; objects, color, light + flow.

MIKEL Palmer
Creating spaces with material, hardware, color and the execution of ideas.
I grew up skateboarding the streets of Kalamazoo Michigan, where I worked at coffee shops, record stores and played in bands.
My work as a carpenter 26 years ago started as a side job to help out a real estate friend; who in turn helped Christine and I buy our first home. Six renovations and one new construction later, we find ourselves in our most prized space yet, but always open to the next inspiration that comes our way.
In 2001 we moved to Northern Michigan where I started a construction company with my Grandfather. We built spec homes on a street named after my Grandmother, renovated an 1880 farmhouse and built the house that Christine and I designed for our growing family.
In 2005 we packed up our crew and headed west for Seattle to be near the rest of the Palmer family. The West Coast was calling.
In Seattle, I began working with a small construction company that pushed my skill set and introduced me to design I had aspired to build. After a few years, I went back to being independent and running my own company, focusing on smaller projects that let me have a hand in the design and execution.
Now I am part owner + lead at Métis Construction in commercial and high end residential construction- where the exposure is inspiring and the details are precise.
I’ts not enough to say that I love what I do, I am compelled to show it by creating beautiful things.
